You Guide Me When I'm Lost Ch.10 [Horuss x Reader]

You turned your head to look at Horuss, his face now only centimetres away from you own. Your face was suddenly covered in a bright red blush but you tried to hide it by looking away again.

You then decided that was stupid and you needed to stop running away.

You turned back around and hugged the boy tight, crying now.

“You really shouldn’t though Horuss. I’m glad you don’t hate me! But… you really should…”

“Of horse I don’t hate you [name]! And nothing is your fault, why would it be?”

“Because I… because I ruined your... your m-matespritship… w-with R-R-Rufioh…”

“[name]… it was already ruined… I can see that now and we should hoof ended it a while ago… I was j-just… hanging on…”

He started sobbing again and you hugged him tighter oh god he was so cuddly and warm and you just wanted to hug the shit out of him forever.

Ahem.

“Horuss, it’ll be okay, you can get through this… that’s what makes you STRONG!!”

You yelled the last word just to see if you could get a positive reaction and you felt the sides of his mouth curve upwards on your shoulder.

You glanced upwards lightly to see Meulin’s toothy grin, which surprised you. That was not what you expected.

She winked at you and promptly walked out of the room.

You looked down at the light brown-covered shoulder underneath you and smiled. She was leaving you to comfort him and you knew that you could. For once in what seemed like forever, you felt really sure of something. You knew that you could make up for before and make your best friend his usual, cheerful self.

“[Name], I think if this had happened behorse I met you… I think I would have been a lot more pumper-broken…”

You blushed and pulled away slightly to look at his face.

“What… uh… what do you mean by that…?”

Your eyes were on your knees and you knew that you took that wrong. He just meant you were a good friend to comfort him. Not that he liked you. What could possibly put that dumbass idea in your head?

You mentally slapped yourself and almost burst into tears again, but kept your smile plastered on your face, why ruin his day even further?

“I mean… that I…”

His face was flushed blue and he started sweating profusely.

“Well I… neigh… I mean, even though your blood is so low…”

You looked at his shrunken, horse-clad form. He still looked insanely attractive.

“Feelings… just a little bit red…”

He looked at the floor and began to sweat even more, if that was even possible.

“For… for hoof, [name]. For you.”

He said the last part to clarify his meaning, what with all these silly horse puns.

“Well… you already know my feelings Horuss…”

You delicately moved his face towards yours so that he was looking at you know and you were yet again centimetres apart.

“…But you’re going through a breakup. With someone you’ve loved for a very long time. I don’t want to be your rebound girl…”

He opened his mouth to argue. He wanted to say that you wouldn’t be, that he truly loved you, that he really wanted to be with you… but he would be lying. He closed his mouth again.

He knew it. You knew it, even if you didn’t want to. You think you would have dated him probably, if he had lied to you that time, if he had insisted. You wonder how long it might’ve lasted.

You spent who-knows-how-long sitting and chatting quietly with Horuss after that. Nothing important, just idle chit-chat, like the first day the two of you had met. You discussed the dream bubbles, new friends, old friends that were freshly dead, strange occurrences and exchanged the current gossip.

Apparently lil Vantas was discovered having ‘sloppy make outs’ with a human. You wondered if you knew them.
